Our Story

Her Version…

I was studying for finals in December, 2010, and I decided to take a break and bake cookies and sweet potatoes. One of my friends from dental school and residency, Jon, called and asked if he could stop by and have some sweet potatoes. I said sure, but that I had to get back to studying. When he was almost at my place he told me that he was bringing a friend. At my door stood my friend Jon and a handsome young man, Bryan. I didn’t think much about our first visit because I was preoccupied with studying. When finals were over we started to hang out with our mutual friends and discovered that my new friend was a really great guy. The first time we hung out by ourselves was on a day trip to Disneyland where I realized that I was at the happiest place on earth with the person that made me the happiest…

His Version…

I was hanging out with my best friend Jon one evening and we had just finished dinner. He was looking on his phone and noticed that his classmate, Beatrice, was making sweet potatoes and decided to see if he could have some.  He texted her and said he was coming over to get some potatoes and was bringing a friend.  We showed up and had some sweet potatoes.  Beatrice was busy with studying and was a little preoccupied and didn’t have a lot of time to chat, but I knew I wanted to get to know her better.  We ended up hanging out after finals were over and gradually became friends.  We enjoyed hanging out with friends on a few occasions, but really hit it off when we planned a trip to Disneyland and it ended up being just the two of us when the others backed out.

  2. Huge Congratulations! Really sweet story. I didn’t understand the Sweet Potatoes in the photos till I read this….now it makes sense. Mike and I are really excited to attend your wedding next month. Try not to stress….things will go wrong, but it’s OK, just roll with it! Love, Andreea
